The village pub

Great news, The Carpenters Arms in Fulbrook has new owners. They have been working very hard day and night, re-furbished it and welcomed us all with a fantastic opening night. The menu is exciting and the beer well kept, what more could you want? Lovely staff and hosts too! See their facebook page.

Art Weeks

ART IN FULBROOK Every year artists and craftspeople all over Oxfordshire hold exhibitions of their work – a chance to view, and maybe buy, original art work in the artist’s own studio. This year’s exhibitions in our area will be from Saturday May 18th 2019 to Monday May 27th at Star Cottage B&B, Meadow Lane, Fulbrook OX18 4BW; turn right by the war memorial and it’s on your right. We will have paintings in water colour, oils and acrylics and botanic illustrations.

We’ll also have refreshments and a ‘have a go’ table.
Do come and see us; we will be
open between 12 and 6 every day!

For more information on this
exhibition and events all over Oxfordshire look at www.artweeks.org.

Tours

We are very excited to offer all inclusive stays for June, July and August. Stay with us from Monday to Friday morning and we will take care of everything. Peter will pick you up and drop you off at Charlbury station. Evening meals will be in lovely local dining pubs and lunches and teas are also included. The tours will be for two full days and one half a day taking you to Cotswold attractions including famous gardens, farms, stately homes and even vineyards and breweries. The choice is yours! Please telephone for more details.

Further improvements

We will be closed from 7th January for about two weeks during which time the heating system will be improved, new carpets will be laid and a splash of paint applied here and there. We look forward to seeing you during 2013.
Happy New Year to guests past and guests intending.

An Inspector Calls

The Inspector stayed last week. All went well and we keep the four stars and win a gold award and a breakfast award too. We are both happy and relieved. The nice inspector was very helpful with some useful tips to help keep the b&b in top form.

Refreshed

We hope you like the improved website. New pictures have been added to give a better view of the rooms and surrounding area. Our good friends at Jump-To (see the link) have put it together and printed a lovely post card to help with our marketing. This year has been very busy and I’m sorry to have to be turning so many people away. Try a winter break here, the Cotswolds have their own beauty in every season.

Homemade Strawberry Jam

Sally’s homemade strawberry jam is proving very popular, more strawberries needed for the next jam session! Upton Smokery supply some delicious smoked trout which together with scrambled eggs using Barrington Estate organic eggs makes a delicately flavoured breakfast dish.
