Art Weeks

ART IN FULBROOK

Every year
artists and craftspeople all over Oxfordshire hold exhibitions of their work –
a chance to view, and maybe buy, original art work in the artist’s own studio.
This year’s exhibitions in our area will be from Saturday May 2nd
to Sunday May 10th at Star Cottage B&B, Meadow
Lane, Fulbrook OX18 4BW; turn right by the war memorial and it’s on your right.
We will have paintings in water colour, oils and acrylics and botanic illustrations.
We’ll also have refreshments and a ‘have a go’ table.
Do come and see us; we will be
open between 12 and 6 every day!

For more information on this
exhibition and events all over Oxfordshire look at www.artweeks.org.

An Inspector Calls

The Inspector stayed last week. All went well and we keep the four stars and win a gold award and a breakfast award too. We are both happy and relieved. The nice inspector was very helpful with some useful tips to help keep the b&b in top form.

Refreshed

We hope you like the improved website. New pictures have been added to give a better view of the rooms and surrounding area. Our good friends at Jump-To (see the link) have put it together and printed a lovely post card to help with our marketing. This year has been very busy and I’m sorry to have to be turning so many people away. Try a winter break here, the Cotswolds have their own beauty in every season.

Homemade Strawberry Jam

Sally’s homemade strawberry jam is proving very popular, more strawberries needed for the next jam session! Upton Smokery supply some delicious smoked trout which together with scrambled eggs using Barrington Estate organic eggs makes a delicately flavoured breakfast dish.

Marmalade Making Weekend

This weekend, 14th and 15th of January, is marmalade making weekend. With 5Kg of best Seville oranges and lots of sugar we should have enough to last until next winter. The whole house smells of fragrantly boiling oranges. We think it tastes delicious,…come and try some it really is sunshine on toast! We also have an interesting medlar preserve and blackberry jam, both from the fruits of the garden.
